בעדת אלMeaning: 'In the company of AL'. From: Psalm 22:1.BODTh AL0
אשהMeaning: 'woman'. This is a common mnemonic word, which means it represents a value other than the sum of its letters. The first time we are introduced to the word is in verse 2:23 of Genesis. This reads: 'And said Adam This One now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. This One shall be called Woman because from man was taken This One.' Note that the word זֹּֽאת meaning 'this one' are the chosen words to specify Woman by Adam and they are spoken three times. I make no suggestion that there was any allusion to the Hindu–Arabic numeral system that is used today. However this may suggest a visual allusion to the number as it could be represented on a counting board or an abacus.AShH0
אהלMeaning: 'tent'. This is a common mnemonic word, which means it represents a value other than the sum of its letters. We see this mnemonic used in Genesis 18:9 when Abraham makes a bad joke. He is asked by the Angels, 'where is your Woman?' And he replies 'Behold! In the tent!' It might be that the word 'tent' borrowed the number of 'woman' (111) because it was a symbol of her authority over her domain.AHL0

About Shematria

The Shematria Gematria Calculator is a research tool for people engaged in the study of the Bible and other Occult texts.

Shematria converts words to numbers. It makes working out formal gematria calculations easier and faster to do. Shematria accepts calculations in Hebrew, Greek, Arabic & Roman scripts. The calculator only carries ciphers that have been proven to have been used in the Tanakh, the New Testament or the Book of the Law*.

The name 'Shematria' is a contraction of the words 'Shem' and 'Gematria'. in Hebrew the word 'Shem' means 'name'.

The name 'Shematria' has the same gematria value as the word 'Gematria'. A common title for God in Judaism is 'HaShem', meaning 'The Name' (of God). This calculator allows you to add and subtract as well as do simple division and multiplication (with single letters).

It will not count any numbers that you enter if they accompany letters. If you enter numbers only, it will check our database for other examples of words and calculations that match that number.

The Shematria database is curated. Please see our guidelines for submission to our database. The Gematria Bible is an interlinear Bible that includes the gematria of every word. It can also speak the verses in Hebrew or Greek for you to reveal poetic meter, rhyme, and other audible features of the text.

If you'd like to learn more about the formal system of Gematria, please consult 'Behold! The Art and Practice of Gematria' by Bethsheba Ashe.

* With the exception of the Arabic cipher which is only experimental at the moment and has not yet been evaluated for use with texts such as the Quran.
